On display at the DeVos Place for ArtPrize 2023 in Grand Rapids, MI 9/14-10/1
This series was made in response to being a Black/Mixed-race person living in Appalachia. Unfamiliar landscapes and longing for a sense of home permeate these hypothetical scenes, set beneath actual skies filmed around the region. These scenes are hybrid still photo and time-lapse video creations. When on display, the piece is displayed on a top of the line HDR monitor which provides the utmost visual impact of colors, textures and dynamic range. The monitor is mounted to a custom fabricated stand.
